What is Speechcraft
A hands-on course to build your speaking confidence
Speechcraft is a 6-week communication skills training series developed by Toastmasters International. Unlike one-off workshops, it gives you repeated practice in a safe, encouraging environment.
Gain confidence, conquer fears, and practice with a supportive team. Each session combines short educational segments with hands-on speaking practice. You'll deliver prepared speeches, try impromptu speaking, and receive constructive feedback from experienced mentors.
By the end of the course, most participants notice a real shift in how they approach speaking — at work, in social situations, and beyond.

Course Structure
How each session works
Each Wednesday evening session (7pm – 9pm) is designed to maximise your learning through a mix of instruction and hands-on practice.
Educational segment
An experienced Toastmaster presents a short lesson on a speaking technique — body language, vocal variety, storytelling, or structuring your message.
Prepared speeches
Participants deliver prepared speeches (2-5 minutes) on topics they choose. You'll be assigned speeches at the start of the course so you have time to prepare.
Table Topics practice
Impromptu speaking! Answer random questions for 1-2 minutes. This builds quick thinking and confidence for those unexpected moments in real life.
Evaluations and feedback
Every speaker receives warm, constructive feedback highlighting strengths and one area to work on. You'll also learn how to give helpful feedback to others.

Our Speechcraft courses are held at Karaka War Memorial Hall, 319 Linwood Rd, Karaka. There's plenty of free parking, and we're easily accessible from Papakura, Drury, Pukekohe, and the wider South Auckland area.
